Sheikhupura: At least 22 people were killed when a passenger bus collided with a train coming from Karachi to Lahore
Sheikhupura (Pak News) A passenger wagon coming from Karachi to Lahore hit Shah Hussain Express near Farooqabad Gate in Sheikhupura, as a result of which 22 people were killed and 8 injured. Police Officer (DPO) Ghazi Salahuddin confirmed that 22 people were killed in the accident.
Rana Ijaz, district in-charge of Rescue 1122, said the bodies and injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, while the condition of five of the eight injured in the accident was said to be critical, DPO Ghazi Salahuddin said. A railway spokesman added that railway and district rescue teams had reached the spot and were busy repairing the track and evacuating the injured and dead from the coaster.
The Railway spokesperson further said that all the divisional officers were dispatched to the spot. He said that after the accident, the Railways immediately suspended the DEN while Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed took immediate action against those responsible. Ordered.
