ISLAMABAD (Pak News) Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Islamic Ideological Council to consult on the construction of the temple. Following the recommendations of the Islamic Ideological Council, Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide on the fund for the construction of a place of worship for the Hindu community.

Prime Minister Imran Khan called on Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri and discussed issues related to construction of a temple in Islamabad. The Federal Minister apprised the Prime Minister of the sensitivity of the issue of construction of the temple and the response coming from religious and political circles. He said that Hindu MNS had applied to the Human Rights Commission in 2017 for the construction of a place of worship.

The CDA had allotted space for the temple in 2017 at the request of the Ministry of Human Rights. Minority MPs also asked the Ministry of Religious Affairs for funds to build the temple. The Ministry of Religious Affairs does not release funds for the construction of minority places of worship, but repairs and renovates minority places of worship. On the other hand, religious leaders of different schools of thought, eminent scholars and great preachers in their respective sermons on Friday strongly criticized the construction of the temple in Islamabad and said that this temple was allowed by the previous government or the current government now Is being built. In both cases the construction of the temple is unacceptable and we reject it.
